We did our best to try to avoid heat stroke in the 100 degree heat and humidity... A couple of our kids don't seem to fare so well in the extreme heat. So we kept our outings short and made trips in and out of the air conditioning, visiting a HUGE Bass Pro Shop, a Macon park, a Mexican restaurant, a walk along the Ocmulgee River, and a excursion to Ocmulgee National Monument. (Who knew Macon had a national monument? It was news to me.)
Lucia rolled with us like a champ... I was swaddling her in the air-conditioned locations and stripping off clothes in the heat.

Heading up to see the Indian mounds at Ocmulgee National Park. I was trying to shield Lucia from the sun with the blanket without overheating her. It was 100 degrees! |
Memorial Day -outfitted kids in front of the entrance to the Ocmulgee National Monument — the oldest reconstructed earth home in the country. We are missing only Lucia in this photo. |

We stopped at the park and let the kids play for a while. That didn't last long though, as they were just too hot. Marguerite did have fun while it lasted! |
